Jackie & Russell's Harlaxton Manor wedding

Harlaxton Manor still stops me in my tracks every time I come up the drive, and I've filmed there a fair few times now. Jackie and Russell's Harlaxton Manor wedding in September 2025 is one I'll always remember, so I wanted to share their film and a little bit about their day.

Why Harlaxton Manor is so good on film

Harlaxton sits just outside Grantham and honestly looks like something out of a period drama. The golden stone, the towers and the gardens give you something beautiful to look at from every angle, and the rooms inside are just as grand.

What I love most as a filmmaker is how much variety there is in one place. The lawns, the terraces and the house itself are all right there, so couples don't have to be walked around for ages to get lovely shots. That means more time with their guests, which is exactly how it should be.

An intimate Harlaxton Manor wedding

Jackie and Russell's wedding was quite an intimate one, and they were just the loveliest couple ever. We had a video call a few weeks before the wedding to go through all of their plans, so by the time the day came round I knew what mattered most to them.

I'll never forget Russell's reaction when he saw Jackie for the first time. Moments like that are exactly why I do this job. Their vows to each other were just beautiful and so emotional.

A lot of what makes their film special is the small stuff too. Guests chatting and laughing between the big moments, the rings, and all the little details they'd planned so carefully.

Ending the night with fireworks

The fireworks were a real highlight of the day. Harlaxton at night is something else, and it was the perfect way to finish. Jackie and Russell loved them so much that they asked for a separate film of just the fireworks, so I popped one into their gallery alongside everything else!
